OPPO Reno14 5G Is it worth buying?
If you need a phone that stays alive all day and charges quickly, the Reno14 delivers that but you pay for camera quirks and a plastic feel.
- Choose it if
- You prioritize long battery life, fast charging and a smooth display and can accept a plastic build and camera imperfections.
- Consider alternatives if
- You want a flagship‑class camera, a premium build or the best price‑to‑specs ratio.
Based on published reviews and owner reports.
What works well4
- All‑day battery life
- Bright 1400‑nit AMOLED screen
- 80W fast charging
- Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 performance
Reported trade-offs4
- Camera ripple in auto mode
- Plastic body with no IP rating
- Software bloat and slow media scan
- Price similar to newer Reno15
Why we say that
The 6000 mAh battery really lasts through a typical workday and the 80W charger fills it fast. The 6.57‑inch AMOLED panel is bright and smooth at 120 Hz, making media consumption pleasant. Performance is decent with the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, though some owners notice occasional lag.
The camera can capture detailed shots, yet the auto mode shows a ripple effect and overall results are only average. Build quality feels cheap and there is no IP rating, so you need to be careful with water or dust. Software includes bloat and slow media indexing, especially after recent updates.
Read full reasoning
Value is questionable because the newer Reno15 sells for a similar price and offers better overall specs.
