Bangladesh phone price report

We read the phone shops of Bangladesh every day or two and write down what they are asking. This page is what 55 of those readings say about the market itself — not about which phone to buy, but about what a price here actually behaves like.

2,390 handsets, 17 shops, 55 nights of readings between 11 Jun 2026 and 10 Sep 2026. Last checked 9 Sep 2026. Nobody else in this market publishes these numbers, so nobody else can check them either — which is why every rule they obey is written down at the bottom.

What the official set costs over the import

66 handsets across 11 brands are on sale here in both channels at the same RAM and storage, which is the only comparison worth making: the raw cheapest-official against cheapest-import difference on a Z Fold 6 is 143%, and most of that is 512GB against 256GB. On the same box the official unit costs a median of ৳12,304 more.

Two ways to put that as a percentage, and they are not interchangeable:

Which percentage, and of what

This is the channel gap, not the price of the warranty. Holding the configuration takes storage and RAM out of it; duty, the distributor’s margin, the shop’s margin and after-sales are all still inside, and nothing in this data says how the total splits. The eight widest in taka:

What one more storage tier costs at the same shop

Every axis but storage held: same shop, same phone, same RAM, same channel, same market, same SIM tray. Without that the number is a mix of one shop’s margin, an import’s duty and a 12GB unit’s extra RAM. 474 such pairs were on sale side by side when we last read the shops.

StepMedianObservationsRange
64GB → 128GB+৳2,00060 on 18 phones at 11 shops−৳500 to ৳8,200
128GB → 256GB+৳3,491262 on 90 phones at 12 shops−৳3,500 to ৳38,000
256GB → 512GB+৳8,500140 on 68 phones at 8 shops−৳4,000 to ৳95,000
512GB → 1024GB+৳31,50012 on 8 phones at 5 shops৳4,000 to ৳1,09,000

The median rather than the mean, because 17 of those 474 pairs price the bigger box below the smaller one — usually a stale listing on the tier nobody is buying. Those are real observations rather than bugs to drop, so they are counted here instead of quietly removed.

The same box, at different shops

81 handsets are carried by three or more of the shops we read in the same configuration on the same channel. Between the cheapest and the dearest of those shops, the median gap is 7%; the widest is the Vivo Y11d at 4GB/128GB, where 58% — ৳9,500 — separates the 5 shops selling the identical box.

Cheapest offer per shop first, then at least three distinct shops — without that rule one shop listing two colours at two prices becomes a “gap” between that shop and itself. Averaged across every comparison a shop appears in:

From 141 comparisons. The metric is the premium, not the win rate: a shop that is cheapest half the time and 15% dearer the rest is not a cheap shop. Shops appearing in fewer than 25 comparisons are left out rather than ranked on noise.

Where the lowest asking price fell

Two snapshots — 11 Aug 2026 against 10 Sep 2026 — and what happened in between to the lowest price listed on one channel. Official is compared with official and import with import: when the cheap import sells out and the headline falls through to the official unit, the naive query reports a 150% rise and nothing moved.

This is not a like-for-like price cut and should not be read as one. We store one number per channel per night, not one per configuration, so a shop starting to list a cheaper 128GB unit moves this figure without any configuration getting cheaper — the same way a cheap unit selling out moves it the other way. What the rows below say is that the cheapest way to buy that phone on that channel is lower than it was, which is a fact worth having and a different fact from a price cut.

And what has come off since we first saw a price

Same per-channel rule and the same across-configurations caveat, plus two more gates: the channel has to be buyable today, and the current price has to have held for several nights, so a scrape blip does not become a headline. “First price seen” is the first night we recorded one, which is not the phone’s launch price and not its first day on sale in Bangladesh.

How reliably the stock holds

Of the 432 handsets we have recorded on at least 20 nights and that a shop still carries, 220 had somebody holding stock on every single night we looked. Another 210 went missing on fewer than one night in ten. Only 2 disappeared more often than that.

Which is a duller answer than “which models keep selling out” expects. Read it narrowly: it describes what these sellers reported about these handsets, over the nights we recorded them. A stock flag is a shop’s own label and not a checkout we completed; handsets delisted during the window are excluded, which removes the ones most likely to have gone missing; and shops we do not read are not in it at all. The denominator is nights we recorded that handset, never “days”.
