Redmi Note 17 5G Is it worth buying?
The massive 7700 mAh battery is the standout feature of the Redmi Note 17 5G, but you must be extremely careful about which version you purchase in Bangladesh.
- Choose it if
- You prioritize a massive battery and a large display for media consumption and are comfortable managing software settings.
- Consider alternatives if
- You need a reliable manufacturer warranty or want a device that works perfectly with Google services out of the box without technical configuration.
Based on published reviews and owner reports.
What works well4
- Massive 7700 mAh battery capacity
- Bright 1800 nits AMOLED display
- Includes a useful IR blaster
- Smooth 120Hz refresh rate
Reported trade-offs3
- High levels of bloatware and ads
- China ROM units lack Google and Bangla
- No manufacturer warranty on unofficial units
Why we say that
While the 6.99 inch AMOLED display with 1800 nits peak brightness offers a great viewing experience, the software situation is complicated. Many gray market units are China-market versions that lack Google services and Bangla language support, which are difficult to fix. You will also encounter a high amount of bloatware and advertisements, as this is a budget line device.
The Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset is functional for daily tasks, but it is not a powerhouse. If you choose a cheaper unofficial unit, remember that you have no manufacturer warranty and any repairs at a service centre will be paid. Always verify if you are buying a global or China ROM before handing over your money.

Before you buy
Some sellers here list the China-market version (HyperOS CN), others the global one. Check which build you are buying
Same as Xiaomi: CN ROM lacks Google + Bangla, conversion difficult now. Many BD gray Redmis are CN units — check before buying.
These come from published reviews and owner reports we mined for this phone, not from our own testing, and how we read them is on our method page.
