Redmi A3 Is it worth buying?
The Redmi A3 is a budget device that struggles significantly with basic daily tasks and modern software requirements.
- Choose it if
- You only need a basic device for simple tasks and prioritize a premium-looking exterior over performance.
- Consider alternatives if
- You expect to run modern apps, play games, or want a phone that does not suffer from severe system lag.
Based on published reviews and owner reports.
Review sources ↓What works well4
- Premium glass or leather design
- Smooth 90Hz display refresh rate
- Strong battery endurance
- Includes headphone jack and FM radio
Reported trade-offs4
- Extreme lag and 32-bit architecture
- Painfully slow 10W charging
- High levels of bloatware and ads
- Poor camera performance in low light
Why we say that
While the exterior design mimics a premium flagship with glass or leather options, the internal experience is marred by extreme lag and severe system stuttering. Owners report that the 32-bit architecture makes many modern applications incompatible, rendering the phone unable to run popular games or even standard benchmarking tools. The software experience is further hindered by high levels of bloatware, intrusive ads, and critical bugs related to storage reporting and system updates.
Although the 90Hz display is a surprising inclusion at this price point, the panel is dim and surrounded by large bezels. Users find the 10W charging speed painfully slow, often requiring two to three hours for a full charge. Given the performance issues and reported software instability, many owners describe the device as e-waste that fails to provide a functional experience in 2024.
