Apple iPhone 18 Pro at ৳1,65,999→The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 offers elite performance and a stunning display, but it comes with significant risks for Bangladeshi buyers.
Based on published reviews and owner reports.
Review sources ↓Because this device is only available through gray-import channels, you receive no manufacturer warranty, and repairs are prohibitively expensive. Owners frequently report that the 4800 mAh battery is insufficient for heavy use, often describing the endurance as poor. While the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset handles gaming and multitasking with ease, the foldable screen raises long-term durability concerns, including a crease that may become more visible over time.
The main camera performs well, but the selfie camera quality is widely considered unacceptable. You must be prepared for slow 45W charging and the reality that any hardware failure will require costly, out-of-pocket repairs at your own expense. This is a high-maintenance device that demands careful handling and a realistic expectation of its limitations.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 introduces a compelling, compact 'passport' form factor that finally makes the cover screen feel like a normal phone. While it lacks the ultimate multitasking space and telephoto camera of its 'Ultra' sibling, its better aspect ratios for everyday tasks, lighter weight, and improved battery life make it the more practical choice for most people.
Best for Users who want a foldable that is genuinely comfortable to use one-handed when closed.
Marques Brownlee · Samsung Z Fold 8 (Wide) Impressions: Better Than I Thought! ↗
Marques Brownlee's initial impressions are highly positive, noting that Samsung's new 'passport' shaped Fold 8 is a clever strategic move against Apple. He praises the device's extreme thinness and lightness, comparing it favorably to a regular smartphone. While acknowledging it lacks the telephoto lens and massive multitasking space of the Ultra, he finds the squatter aspect ratios vastly superior for casual media consumption, photography, and reading, making it a surprisingly compelling daily driver.
Marques Brownlee · Galaxy Z Fold 8 Review: Honeymoon's Over ↗
In his full review, Marques Brownlee balances his initial love for the Fold 8's hardware with the practical realities of using it. He reiterates that the wider cover screen and 4:3 inner screen make it a joy to hold and use for most tasks. However, the 'honeymoon is over' as he highlights significant app compatibility issues caused by the unusual screen shapes, the annoying placement of the speakers when unfolded, and the mediocre performance of the cameras given the $1,900 price tag.
Tech Spurt · Samsung Z Fold 8 Review | Get this, not the Ultra ↗
Tech Spurt rigorously tested the Fold 8 during a trip to Disneyland and came away highly impressed by its practical design. He loved that the wider cover screen allowed him to comfortably handle messages and emails without needing to unfold the device. While he found the battery life surprisingly capable and the durability reassuring, he was disappointed by the lack of S Pen support, the absence of a telephoto camera, and the phone's tendency to overheat and stutter during intensive gaming sessions.
GSMArena Official · Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 vs. Z Fold 8 Ultra: Which one should you get? ↗
GSMArena compared the Z Fold 8 directly against the Z Fold 8 Ultra, finding that the choice largely comes down to form factor preference rather than raw specs. They noted the Fold 8's cover screen is better for reading, while the Ultra's is better for scrolling and typing. Surprisingly, the smaller Fold 8 won their battery tests. However, the Ultra clearly outperformed the standard Fold 8 in camera quality (especially zoom and video) and charging speed, leaving buyers to weigh those features against the Fold 8's more compact design.
